The 2020 Waiheke Walking Festival
11-29 November 2020
18 days of walking on Waiheke Island. Over 55 different walks. Add in private land access, wineries and restaurants. Throw passionate guides into the mix.
Now there’s a fine looking Waiheke Walking Festival – presented by Ray White Waiheke.
Walks for 2020 and dates to put in the calendar
We are excited about this year’s festival – and the changes it brings.
We have listened to walkers’ feedback, and have capped numbers for each walk, and are streamlining the check-in process so that we can get walking sooner at each walk.
We’ve also extended our festival dates so that we can offer more walks for our Waiheke and New Zealand visitors. There are some firm favourites still, as well as walks that have never been seen before on the Festival programme. There’s definitely something there to make you want to wiggle your toes into your walking shoes!
Here are some dates for you:
Mid September: Patrons and Friends have early booking access to our Festival walks.
1 October: We are live for general public walk bookings on our website.
11-29 November: The Waiheke Walking Festival is on! You get to walk, rest and take a moment on beautiful Waiheke Island. Best of all, you get to find hidden places which we have discovered for you.
Incredible sponsor support from Ray White Waiheke
Ray White Waiheke has been Waiheke Walking Festival’s presenting partner for the past 3 years. They are a fantastic presenting partner, actively involved in the Festival each year, with owner Matthew Smith and other agents often taking part in our walks as guides or volunteers. They know Waiheke’s hidden places, hills, coves, views having walked and talked over private land as well as public tracks. We love having Ray White Waiheke as part of the Waiheke Walking Festival family and community.
Without them, we wouldn’t have a Waiheke Walking Festival, so if you happen to be over on Waiheke and enjoying the local wine and dreaming about having a bach here (or living here!)…you know who to call. To start living the dream, click here
A Waiheke Walking Festival first: come walk the Island and have a sleepover on Waiheke!

We have put together a 3 day 2 night walk and accommodation experience as part of this year’s Waiheke Walking Festival.
We have sourced Kiwi House in Oneroa as your base on Waiheke. With select walks just for this package, as well as group walks to some spectacular parts of Waiheke, you’ll feel like you’ve seen the whole Island. At the end of each day, you’ll get to put up your feet Waiheke-style!
The package includes 2 nights accommodation with breakfast, picnic lunches for 3 days, all transport to and from walk start and finishes, ferry pick up and drop off, and a host each day to help you enjoy the 3 days of walking adventures. This package does not include ferry tickets or dinners.
Bookings are now open for the 11th-13th November. One package has already sold out, so book now and enjoy the whole Waiheke experience!
You might have noticed we mentioned our Friends’ early bird booking date.
In case you don’t know, Waiheke Walking Festival has real supporters in our Friends of the Festival.
For an annual donation, benefits include an early booking window, the ability to book additional walks and being an awesome human by supporting the Waiheke Walking Festival.
